Rugby World Cup

There will be some challenges around the Rugby World Cup. Chairman Barry Quayle feels the tournament will lead to new events and exhibitions being launched to capitalise on the celebrations, and there will also be some shift of ‘traditional’ exhibitions to periods just before and after the RWC. This will lead to an extension of what is normally ‘high season’ for expos. However, it is also clear that some trade shows will be postponed next year as a result of the Cup and that a few biannual events may ‘skip’ a year.

The EEAA is interested to hear how members feel they will be affected by the RWC – watch out for a special mini survey being sent to you in a couple of weeks, with results to be revealed in our first e-newsletter of 2011 and a report also to be published in the January issue of Meeting Newz.
